Drelon Miller, one of the top offensive weapons in the Lone Star State’s 2024 recruiting cycle, committed Sunday to Colorado, less than two months after decommitting from Texas A&M. Miller officially visited Colorado earlier this month. The Aggies, LSU, and USC have also been in contention for Miller’s pledge as the Early Signing Period looms later in December.
A top 70 overall prospect in the 2024 Top247 rankings, the strong four-star Miller sits at No. 12 overall in the state of Texas and among the top 15 wideouts nationally in a loaded receiver class. A 6-foot, 190-pounder with receiver skill and running back play strength, Miller amassed nearly 3,600 career receiving yards for Silsbee High in rural Southeast Texas, eclipsing 4,300 scrimmage yards and scored 51 offensive touchdowns, in addition to throwing one score and returning two kickoffs for TDs in his Silsbee career.
Not only has Miller produced high volume, but his per-catch rate has been astronomical considering that volume. Miller averaged 23.0 yards per catch during his high school career, a wildly high figure across more than 150 receptions. His productivity also translates to the basketball court, where Miller averaged better than 17 points per game as a sophomore.
