Courtney Lawes has promised to turn ‘blood to water’ to ensure his Northampton career does not end in Friday’s play-off against Saracens.
The Saints skipper, who made his club debut in 2007, will move to French club Brive this summer.
He will bid an emotional farewell to Franklin’s Gardens on Friday, but is desperate to book a place in next week’s final at Twickenham.
‘It’s mad that it has come round this quickly, but I think I can reflect on it post-game when the job is done,’ said Lawes.
‘I want to go out there and enjoy it, go out there and do what I have always done, which is to run my blood to water and give it everything I have. I fully intend to do that.

‘I grew up round here, literally on these streets. It is a two-minute walk down the road to my mum’s house and Duston is where I hung out, apart from here.
‘Essentially, I am representing the people I grew up with, the places I grew up in and I don’t take that lightly. It’s been some ride.’
