“Bigi Boy” is no longer an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter.
Former No. 9-ranked Heavyweight, Jairzinho Rozenstruik, suffered a dreadful unanimous decision loss at UFC Saudi Arabia this past weekend (Sat., Feb. 1, 2025) to former UFC title challenger, Sergei Pavlovich, inside anb Arena in Riyadh.
Today (Mon., Feb 3, 2025), UFC Roster Watch revealed Rozenstruik was no longer on the active roster, and MMAmania.com can confirm that the Surinamese combat sports veteran has been cut despite having multiple fights remaining on his contract.
While it is shocking that a Top 10-ranked Heavyweight has been released — especially in a division struggling to find contenders for Tom Aspinall — the writing may have been on the wall after UFC CEO, Dana White, criticized the fight during UFC Saudi Arabia’s post-fight press conference (watch it here).
“Horrible, horrible fight,” White told reporters. “Listen, we can say the fight sucked, but Sergei won. It wasn’t pretty; it wasn’t fun to watch, and it was the only fight all night to get booed.”
Rozenstruik, 36, exits the promotion with a 9-6 record inside the Octagon, headlining six “Fight Night”-themed cards during his six-year tenure. In his time with UFC, he scored three “Performance of the Night” bonuses, became the only fighter to have three knockouts of 30 seconds or less in UFC history, and has the second-fastest knockout in UFC heavyweight history (watch highlights).
“Bigi Boy” holds notable wins over Alistair Overeem, Junior dos Santos, Andrei Arlovski, and Tai Tuivasa, among others.
