Per at least one report, Bayern Munich was in the running for FC Nürnberg attacker Stefanos Tzimas before the youngster made the jump to Brighton & Hove Albion:
Brighton & Hove Albion are reportedly set to announce the deadline day signing of highly sought-after Nurnberg striker Stefanos Tzimas.
Sky Sports News reports that Tzimas has also been scouted by fellow Premier League clubs Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.
It is understood that Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich were another club keen to sign the teenager, but it now appears that Brighton have won the race for his signature.
Bayern Munich had not been closely to linked to Tziman, but maybe the club kicked the tires with the expectation that Mathys Tel was going to move on? Who knows?
Speaking of Mathys Tel, it turns out that his loan to Tottenham Hotspur was not the biggest deal that the club got done in this window. If fact, it was Beyonce’s agreement to do a four-show stint at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium:
In what will definitely be the most lucrative signing by Tottenham Hotspur of the January transfer window, Spurs have announced they have signed international music legend Beyonce to a four-concert contract, through June of 2025! The concert dates were released today by her current club, Cowboy Carter FC.
This will be Queen Bey’s second stint with Tottenham, after a multi-concert appearance at the club stadium two summers ago. This time she’ll again fill the stadium with season concert ticket holders and her performances for the club may have the most impact of anyone else they might choose to sign this month.
In a statement, chairman Daniel Levy said he was welcoming Beyonce’s return to the club.
“Beyonce’s star power will not only greatly increase overall funds to the club, her concerts will almost help us generate funds for continued squad improvement. We are thrilled to have a singer so influential be a part of our club. #WelcomeBey”
Tottenham players are said to be “buzzing” about Beyonce’s return to North London, with reports suggesting they will greet her at the stadium each wearing a cowboy hat in recognition of “Cowboy Carter”’s multiple Grammy-award winning status.
When asked, Brentford officials said they had no comment, as they were hoping to put a ring on it.
Bayern Munich continues to be top of the league this season; they beat the plucky underdogs of the Bundesliga, Holstein Kiel, but struggled massively at the end; they kept their six point lead over Bayer Leverkusen. Performances on the pitch are coming under scrutiny due to defensive problems. What should Bayern do about the backline? What is going on in Bayern’s January transfer window? We try to shed light on these questions in the Flagship and more:
- Do we see too much of Bayern Munich these days?
- Why does Bayern want to get rid of Mathys Tel?
- Do we remember Bryan Zaragoza?
- Reflections on how good the Bundesliga has been this season.
Juventus could be waiting until summer to make a big transfer strike:
Juventus are willing to activate the release clause to sign striker Victor Osimhen from Napoli when he returns from Galatasaray in the summer, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. The Bianconeri are believed to have identified the 26-year-old as an ideal candidate to replace Dusan Vlahovic, who they are expecting to part ways with in one of the next two transfer windows. An offer worth €75m would be required to activate Osimhen’s clause, but the two Serie A clubs are set to discuss the move as sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli explores whether Napoli would be willing to accept a lower offer.
The next team to take a flier on the vaunted potential of João Félix is AC Milan:

Bayern Munich wanted to come out and make a strong impression against Holstein Kiel in the Bundesliga and the squad did exactly that in wrapping up a 4-3 victory.
Bayern Munich was convincing in capturing the win (until a late defensive collapse), which saw the Bavarians look dominant for extended stretches. Despite playing a low block for extended stretches, Holstein Kiel was also more willing to test Bayern Munich than most other teams.
Eventually, though, Holstein Kiel would wear down. Let’s talk about how it all went down and more on the Bavarian Podcast Works — Postgame Show. This is what we have on tap:
- A look at the starting XI and why Vincent Kompany still needs to consider his options to rotate more.
- A rundown of the scoring and substitutions.
- Some final thoughts and takeaways on the match.
The future of Gregor Kobel got a little bit interesting.
The Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper has been linked to several clubs (including Bayern Munich) and BVB might have just gotten an insurance policy on him in the form of Diant Ramaj:
Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane. Joshua Kimmich, Jamal Musiala, and Raphaël Guerreiro were all recognized for their efforts against Holstein Kiel with a spot on WhoScored.com’s Bundesliga Team of the Week:
Meanwhile, Kane and Eric Dier earned a spot on the WhoScored.com’s Bundesliga Team of the Month:
Bayern Munich knew what was at stake against Slovan Bratislava in the Champions League and got three points.
However, the Bavarians did not catch all of the breaks needed for a top eight finish and will now look toward the playoff round of the competition for the next step.
