With his team absolutely reeling, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola wants to try and get a head start on talks with Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich by starting a conversation in January:
TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey has been informed that Pep Guardiola has given his approval to Manchester City to begin their approach in January to sign Joshua Kimmich.
The German international, who is out-of-contract at the end of the current campaign is free to hold talks with not just the Premier League champions but also Barcelona, who are interested in signing him.
Both Manchester City and Barcelona are particularly interested in signing Kimmich due to his versatility, as he has a wealth of experience playing in midfield and in defence.
Bayern Munich, who assured the treble-winner that he would succeed Manuel Neuer as their captain from next season have spent the past six months trying to persuade him to sign a contract renewal.
