Deion Sanders has found his new defensive coordinator at Colorado.
Cincinnati Bengals safeties coach Robert Livingston is expected to be hired as the Buffaloes’ new defensive coordinator, sources tell 247Sports.
Livingston, who has worked for the Bengals since 2012, helped Cincinnati rank No. 3 in the NFL in pass touchdowns allowed in 2022 and No. 8 in interceptions this year.
Livingston began with Cincinnati as a scout before becoming a coach in 2015 and a defensive backs coach for the Bengals coach in 2016. He specifically coached the Bengals’ safeties the last six seasons and has worked with standout players such as Jessie Bates and Vonn Bell.
Bates was an All-Pro under Livingston. Bell had four interceptions in nine games for Cincinnati in 2022 before leaving for a big contract with the Carolina Panthers.
Livingston will be the replacement for Charles Kelly, who left his post as Colorado’s defensive coordinator for a co-defensive coordinator role at Auburn.
