Former UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz is set to return to the octagon for what may be his final fight.
Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that Cruz is targeted to face Rob Font in the co-main event of UFC Seattle on Feb. 22. UFC broadcast partner ESPN was first to report the booking.
Cruz will make his first UFC walk since a fourth-round knockout loss to Marlon Vera in the main event of UFC San Diego in August 2022. “The Dominator” won his previous two outings, decision wins against Casey Kenney and Pedro Munhoz. The two-time 135-pound champion teased recently that he wanted “one last dance” in early 2025, but no word on whether or not this will be the final fight for one of the division’s all-time greats.
Font recently halted a two-fight skid with an upset victory against Kyler Phillips at UFC Vegas 99 in October. The 37-year-old Massachusetts fighter is set to make his 18th octagon appearance, which includes a sensational knockout of Adrian Yanez at UFC 287 in April 2023.
UFC Seattle is headlined by a battle between former two-division champion Henry Cejudo and Song Yadong.
