All signs point to brewing tension between Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets, with NFL insiders hinting at significant behind-the-scenes drama.
After a roller-coaster season in the Big Apple, Rodgers’ true feelings about his Jets tenure might be far different from what meets the eye.
Former Jets head coach Eric Mangini recently suggested there’s more to Rodgers’ potential future with the team than simple contract talks.
Mangini said Rodgers’ recent comments about never being cut or released by a teenager hint at something deeper regarding his relationship with Woody Johnson and the influence of the owner’s young sons.
“That’s a direct shot at the owner. That’s legitimizing everything that’s been said in that organization. That’s making fun of how disfunctional it is,” Mangini said on “The Herd.”

The FOX analyst didn’t stop there, diving deeper into the retirement speculation surrounding the quarterback.
“To me, as soon as he said that, that in my mind said he wants out, but he doesn’t want to retire, obviously. He wants to get paid and not have to deal with any of the givebacks that come with retirement,” Mangini said.
While the situation seems dire, host Colin Cowherd offered a more optimistic perspective on the Jets’ future.
“I don’t think the Jets are that far off,” Cowherd said.
Never one to hold back, Cowherd took aim at other previously struggling franchises like the Houston Texans, Washington Commanders and Denver Broncos, emphasizing that the NFL operates differently from other major sports leagues.
As this story unfolds, one question looms large: Could Rodgers be plotting his exit from the Jets?
