MANSFIELD, Texas — Colin Simmons didn’t get to play much against Mansfield (Texas) High School on Friday night. The five-star Duncanville (Texas) EDGE played just two quarters before starters were removed in a blowout win. Mansfield stayed away from Simmons getting the ball out quick and running away from his side. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound prospect is ranked as the No. 4 EDGE and No. 6 overall prospect in Texas, according to 247Sports.
The Panthers are shooting for a second consecutive 6A-I state championship in Texas, and they look loaded once again. Simmons said the game plan stresses efficiency on both sides of the ball.
“Honestly, we just want to dominate the whole year and just get in and out,” he said. “With the defense, we want to go three and out. Offense, we want to score on the first drive. We are just trying to get in and out of this season and do something Duncanville has never done before.”
