Ahead of the College Football Playoff semifinals, I’m diving into five guys on each of the four teams who I’ve enjoyed tracking all season — players who could be set for varying degrees of breakout status come New Year’s Day.
In this article, we’re profiling five standouts for the No. 2 Washington Huskies. These guys are certified dudes and project to have a big impact against No. 3 Texas in the Sugar Bowl (Jan. 1, 8:45 p.m. ET, ESPN).
I’ve already given a ton of love to several Huskies this season and believe they had two of the five best wideouts in the loaded Pac-12 this season. The Huskies had a bundle of players land in my year-end Top 101 rankings: Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. (No. 2), wideout Rome Odunze (No. 8), defensive end Bralen Trice (No. 56) and offensive tackle Troy Fautanu (No. 76). Those players step aside here as we dote praise to their teammates.
