Last offseason, Florida State head coach Mike Norvell went out and got veteran quarterback DJ Uiagalelei in the transfer portal from Oregon State.
That move didn’t work out for either Uiagalelei or Florida State, which finished the season 2-10, but in today’s NIL and transfer portal world, you have to keep trying if you’re a quarterback-hungry coach like Norvell.
Changes are not just on the horizon in Tallahassee, but they’re here. The biggest one so far this offseason has been the hiring of Gus Malzahn, who resigned as UCF’s head coach last month, to be FSU’s new offensive coordinator.
Now, FSU may have its quarterback for 2025 as it’s being reported that former Boston College quarterback Thomas Castellanos has committed to the Seminoles via the transfer portal.
