There is a rather common consensus from fans of Bayern Munich: Michael Olise was worth the money. Bayern splashed the cash to secure the Frenchman, agreeing to a potential fee of about €59 million. But he has been worth it. Such high praise has been coming all season, but it is especially prevalent to dish it out now, as Olise’s stunning strike against Celtic in the Champions League to break the deadlock caught the headlines.
Former Bayern youth product Owen Hargreaves also took the time to sing his praises about Olise, going into detail why the former Crystal Palace player is doing such a good job: “He could be as good as anyone if he wants to. First time in the Champions League as well, it’s a huge jump from Crystal Palace. He did brilliantly there, but to jump into a team like Bayern Munich – credit to him,” the former Manchester United player said, via @iMiaSanMia. “He has a calmness in front of goal, which is really unique, and I think he suits this Bayern Munich team beautifully.”
