It’s been a winding road for quarterback Sam Huard, who was a five-star recruit in the class of 2021, ranked as the No. 3 quarterback in the nation.
That winding road now finds him calling USC his home base, as it’s being reported that Huard — who was with Utah last season — will be transferring to play for Lincoln Riley.
Huard, from Bellevue, Washington, committed to the Washington Huskies out of high school, but he barely played in two seasons — notching just one touchdown thrown compared to four interceptions in five games.
He transferred to Cal Poly for 2023 and threw for 2,205 yards and 18 touchdowns with 10 interceptions. Huard transferred to Utah last season but took a medical redshirt, so he’ll have two years of eligibility to use with USC.
Huard’s father, Damon Huard, and uncle, Brock Huard, were both NFL quarterbacks in the late 90s and early 2000s.
