Cadillac could have as many as four LMDhs at the Le Mans 24 Hours with the confirmation that Wayne Taylor Racing and Action Express Racing have filed entries.
The General Motors brand’s representatives in the IMSA SportsCar Championship in North America have revealed that they have each made a bid to run a solo V-Series.R in the Hypercar class at the centrepiece round of the World Endurance Championship on 14/15 June.
If successful, they would join the two full-season WEC entries from Jota, which has taken over the world championship programme from Chip Ganassi Racing for 2025.
It would mean an increased Le Mans presence for Cadillac over the three cars it fielded in 2023 and ’24 when Action Express campaigned a V-Series.R and Ganassi brought an extra car to bolster its single full-season WEC entry.
WTR boss Wayne Taylor has never made any secret of a desire to take his team to Le Mans, explaining that it was one of the reasons for his swap back to Cadillac from Acura in IMSA for this season.
“GM is putting every effort into getting us into Le Mans,” Taylor told Motorsport.com.
“I am not saying we believe we are going, but I am very hopeful. Taking the team to Le Mans for the first time is a big thing for me.”

Action Express team manager Gary Nelson outlined his desire to take a car to Le Mans for a third year in a row.
“We are doing what we can, but we understand that going to Le Mans is by invitation,” he said.
“We’ve been for the past two years and if we go back we will have the benefit of those two years of experience. We would feel well prepared if we are invited this year.”
There appears to be room for the additional Hypercar entries at Le Mans after the full-season entry for the WEC dropped by one car from 19 to 18 for 2025.
Last year’s Le Mans grid was bolstered by the Action Express and Ganassi entries, as well as by one Hypercar from the Iron Lynx Lamborghini team and one from the Porsche Penske Motorsport squad.
Two extra Caddys and one from Porsche, which has an automatic invite after winning the IMSA title last year, would mean there would be 21 Hypercars at Le Mans this year, two down on last year’s 23.
The full entry for Le Mans this year will be revealed in the wake of the final two rounds of the Asian Le Mans Series at Abu Dhabi on 15 and 16 February when the auto entries from the series are determined.
Taylor revealed that Jota would support a WTR Le Mans bid in terms of infrastructure, pointing out that he has provided the same back-up for the British team in the past when it has contested the Daytona 24 Hours IMSA round.
