Jordan Scott, the No. 52 overall prospect in the class of 2025, has committed to Michigan State.
The 6-foot-7, 185-pound forward from Reston, Va. chose Michigan State over Maryland and Virginia Tech.
“This wasn’t an easy decision at all,” Scott said. “Each of my finalists are great schools which is why they made my top 3. I picked Michigan State because on my visit I saw the fit. I fit pretty well at Maryland and Virginia Tech but I fit the best at Michigan State. I thought it was the best opportunity for my basketball success and 40 years after college.”
Spartan assistant coach Doug Wojcik was Scott’s lead recruiter. While each of his finalists heavily pursued him, Wojcik made the extra stops to land the talented four-star.
“Doug Wojcik was the main one to recruit me at Michigan State,” Scott said. ” I had great relationships with all the coaches in my Top 3 but he stayed in constant contact with me and always checked in. If he wasn’t checking in he would always get out here to South Lakes or would come by for a home visit. He was relatable not just as a basketball coach but as a friend.”

Scott also mentioned the status of Michigan State as a factor in his decision. Scott is a strong supporter of head Coach Tom Izzo and believes in his plan for him and the program.
“Michigan State is another blue-blood organization with legendary Tom Izzo at the Helm. Having all that with a strong fan base went into this decision a little bit. I think this will be his 30th year coming up and I’m excited for the future with him.”
Scott is the first commitment for Tom Izzo in the class of 2025.
“Michigan State fans can expect a hard worker who can helpfully bring some banners and some rings,” Scott added.
