Daquan Davis is one of the top available recruits in the 2024 class, ranking No. 77 overall in the country.
The 6-foot-1, 170-pound point guard out of Atlanta (Ga.) Overtime Elite was once committed to Providence but put his name back onto the open market and is feeling out other suitors.
Today, Davis is heading down to Florida State for an official visit while others are getting more and more involved … and in the case of Providence, the Friars are re-engaging.
“I know Georgia Tech is showing genuine interest, I go to Florida State tomorrow, I know Indiana is in the process and Providence has reached back out,” he updated on the latest in his recruitment.
Recently, Davis took unofficials to Georgia Tech and also Georgia. He further illuminated where things stand with the Hoosiers, Friars, Georgia Tech and also Georgia while previewing his visit to see the Seminoles.
Indiana: “I haven’t talked to them heavy but it’s there.”
Florida State: “I look forward to watching the game. They play Duke and that’s a big time game so I look forward to seeing how they play, how they get up and down, how the offense is ran and how the defense plays. He [Leonard Hamilton] just likes my game. I play full defense and I am a dog and that’s what caught his interest.”
Georgia: “They’re in the mix for sure. I have been out there for an unofficial. They invited me out there and I like how they play, I like coach [Mike] White.”
Georgia Tech: “I think I am going to set one [official visit] up soon. I like coach Stoudamire, he gets me out to all of the games as everybody can see, coach Hobbs, the whole staff love me and they come watch me at Overtime Elite so it’s a good recruitment, a good relationship.”
Providence: “It’s still a good relationship. There was no love lost when I de-committed. I think they understood so it’s a good relationship.”
What is Davis looking for in a school in his second go-around after de-committing from Providence?
“My eyes are on a coach that fits my play-style, a pick-and-roll game, five-out, I like to play defense a lot so whatever fits my style.”
