Florida State added one more blue-chip recruit to its top-tier Transfer Portal class, landing Alabama transfer Shawn Murphy on Monday. This caps off a strong surge to the end of this Portal cycle, with FSU also landing four-star West Virginia DL Tomiwa Durojaiye, Alabama OL Terrence Ferguson, Oregon State DE Sione Lolohea, Alabama RB Roydell Williams, and OL Richie Leonard all joining the class since Thursday.
Murphy was unranked with he committed to FSU, but got a 91 grade from 247Sports on Tuesday to move FSU’s blue-chip ratio in this Portal Cycle to 10 four-star commits to 4 three-star commits (with Leonard being ranked a three-star).
The recent run propelled FSU to No. 3 in the Transfer Class Rankings 68.04 points, behind only Ole Miss and Texas A&M. Among teams inside the Top 50 nationally, FSU’s average grade of 89.93 per transfer is behind only Ole Miss, Oregon, Georgia, Ohio State, and Texas. So as has become common for Mike Norvell quality transfers are emphasized and secured.
