Savannah (Ga.) Christian Prep five-star defensive lineman Elijah Griffin committed to Georgia Friday, giving the Bulldogs their third 247Sports five-star prospect in the 2025 recruiting cycle. Griffin was the highest-ranked uncommitted prospect in the country prior to his announcement, and now is the top-rated commit in the Bulldogs’ 2025 class. The 6-foot-4.5, 290-pounder is also the top defensive prospect in the class of 2025 thanks to his exceptional physical traits, advanced feel for the game and elite production for Savannah Christian.
Griffin’s No. 4 overall ranking in our most recent update puts him in special company with recent Georgia defensive linemen who were top 10 overall prospects in Travon Walker (2019 No. 5), Jalen Carter (2020 No. 9), and current Bulldog Mykel Williams (2022 No. 7).
As a senior, Griffin has totaled 33 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, and six sacks through six games played, giving him 86.5 tackles for loss and 41.5 sacks for his wildly productive career at Savannah Christian. Beyond his immense production, Griffin is a technically polished and savvy defender who finds success in multiple alignments and can wreck shop against the run or pass.
