Former New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning will not be entering the Pro Football Hall of Fame as part of their Class of 2025.
Manning, who is in his first year of eligibility for enshrinement, was passed over by the 50-person panel, as announced during the NFL Honors on Thursday night.
That ends the speculation of whether Manning is deserving or not of being elected in his first year on the ballot. He will have to wait until next year, or beyond.
Below is the Class of 2025, which consists of four players.

Next yearās ballot will not be an easy one for Eli to navigate with first-timers such as Drew Brees, Larry Fitzgerald, Jason Witten, Maurkice Pouncey, Geno Atkins, Philip Rivers, and Frank Gore all coming up for consideration.
Eli has a long list of achievements beginning with being selected first overall in the 2004 NFL draft, which resulted in him being acquired by the Giants in a draft day trade with the San Diego Chargers.
Many experts feel Eli is a Hall of Famer, just not worthy of an automatic election. Here is an official list of Manningās accomplishments from the PFHOF:
- Played entire career (16 seasons) with the New York Giants. Played in a franchise-record 236 regular-season games, including a streak of 210 consecutive starts.
- Super Bowl XLII MVP while handing the New England Patriots their only loss of the season. Was also named Super Bowl XLVI MVP becoming one of only six players to earn multiple Super Bowl MVP awards.
- Selected to four Pro Bowls (2019, 2012-13, 2016).
- Shared 2016 NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year recognition with Larry Fitzgerald.
- Led the NFC in passing touchdowns in 2005 (24) and 2015 (35). Threw for 57,023 yards and 366 touchdowns. Ranks 11th all-time in passing yards, completions, and touchdown passes.
- Upon retirement, possessed 22 regular-season records for the Giants, including passes completed (4,895), longest pass completion (99 yards against the Jets in 2011), and most games with 300 or more yards passing (51)
- Among his nine franchise postseason records are passing yards (2,815) and touchdowns (18). Departed Ole Miss owning 47 game, season, or career records.
Manning was honored to be a finalist and vowed not to sulk if he were snubbed here in 2025.
