Timo Glock will return to the DTM for the first time in three years after signing a deal with Dorr Motorsport for the 2025 season.
The five-time race winner will pilot a McLaren 720S GT3 EVO for Dorr Group, replacing Clemens Schmid in the squad’s two-car line-up.
This would be the German’s first foray into the DTM since he made a wildcard appearance with Ceccato in 2022 at the wheel of a BMW M4 GT3.
Glock was previously a part of BMW’s factory roster in the DTM, joining the German manufacturer for its second season in 2013 and staying on through the entirety of the Class One era.
During that period, Glock became one of the most popular drivers in the DTM, scoring 15 podiums and six pole positions in addition to his five race victories.
However, a difficult season in 2021 with the ageing BMW M6 upon the series’ switch to GT3 regulations left him without a drive in the series.
He continued his relationship with BMW in 2022, racing in the Italian GT championship, but was ousted by the Bavarian brand at the end of that year. He hasn’t struck a deal with another manufacturer since then.
Speaking about his return to the DTM, Glock, now 42 years old, said: “The contact and my passion for the DTM have never completely broken off.
“I think the project is very good and exciting. Dorr Motorsport wants to take the next step with me – I am proud of that.

“With my experience, I am convinced that I can help the team. I am to play a central role in building the team. Our goal is to consistently finish in the top 10 in the second year. Maybe even podium places are possible.
“I definitely feel ready, I am fully motivated and can hardly wait to race again. I am really looking forward to the challenge and working with Rainer Dorr and the entire team. There is no doubt as to whether I still have it in me – I am firmly convinced of that.”
Dorr Group runs McLaren’s largest dealer network in Europe and its racing arm expanded to the DTM in 2024, fielding two examples of the 720S GT3 for Schmid and Ben Dorr.
Ben Dorr will remain in the DTM with his family-run squad in 2025, partnering the incoming Glock.
“We are very proud to welcome Timo Glock to our team,” said team owner Rainer Dorr. “I think having a driver with such expertise and career is a great asset not only for us as a team, but also for the DTM.”
Prior to joining the DTM with BMW over a decade ago, Glock raced in Formula 1 for five seasons between 2008-12, with the highlight being his three podiums with Toyota.
