The National Football League is changing.
As such, it’s only right for the new generation to show what they have.
The Minnesota Vikings did that when they hired a young Kevin O’Connell to replace Mike Zimmer as their new head coach.
Fast forward to today, and they love the results.
O’Connell has now made a name for himself around the league.
With that in mind, legendary tight end Greg Olsen gave him his flowers, calling him the right guy for a team needing a head coach, play-caller, and quarterback whisperer.
“If you’re starting a franchise and you need a great coach, play-caller, QB whisperer he might be the guy.” – @gregolsen88 on Head Coach Kevin O’Connell

O’Connell has completely turned Sam Darnold’s career around.
Darnold had shown glimpses of his great arm talent, but the consistency and reads weren’t there.
Under O’Connell’s tutelage and system, he looks like a legitimate star.
The Vikings’ offense is efficient, and while simple, they also keep opposing defenses guessing.
They have plenty of talent, but their play-calling and scheming are also among the league’s best.
At 39 years old, Coach O’Connell deserves to be mentioned among the best coaches in the game.
Against all odds and speculation, the Vikings have already won 11 games this season, and they still have a chance to take down the Detroit Lions and finish the season with the best record in the NFC and the No. 1 spot in the NFC North Division.
Kevin O’Connell, by all means, deserves to be this year’s NFL Coach of the Year, and he’s only going to get better over time.
