Guido Della Rovere is a 17-year-old player for Bayern Munich’s youth team. The 6-foot-2 attacking midfielder was brought in from Cremonense the previous year and he seems to be settling in well. Of course, Guido is a name that most kids his age would be familiar with, and he knows that.
“Yes, I’ve seen the GIFs and pictures a lot,” Guido laughed (via Bayern’s official website). “I really like the movies and the character, so I actually find it quite funny.”
Apart from sharing the same birthplace as the character, there’s not a lot going on that links the two. In fact, Guido the player is not as keen on Italian sports cars as much as his father.
The Cremona native was also revealed to have a Lithuanian mother and stated that he’s not the “typical Italian.” “Italy is my home, I grew up here, I love the culture, the food and am very proud of my origins. Nevertheless, I would say that I don’t always fit the stereotypical image. I’m more of an introverted type who is withdrawn and doesn’t show everything emotionally – as is perhaps the case with many of my compatriots.”
