Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer recently extended his contract, due to expire this summer, by another year. The move keeps the senior-most Bayern captain in place and leaves the question of the 38-year-old’s succession open.
Count Harry Kane as among those delighted by the news.
“It’s great news for us players and for the club. Manu is one of best, if not the best goalkeeper I’ve seen. His ability, and him as a leader is everything you need. I’m excited for him and hopefully we keep progressing as a team,” Kane said in comments attributed to Cleats Club (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Neuer has caught his share of flak this season, particularly after games where Bayern Munich has shipped goals. But he is still a legend, his distribution is elite, and he commands respect in the clubhouse.
To a good and productive 2025 and 2026 for Neuer and Bayern.
