Stats Perform is bringing a greater spotlight to athletes, students and stories at Historically Black Colleges and Universities through a partnership with Urban Edge Network. Included in the 2024 college football season are both HBCU FCS Player and Team of the Week honors and a season-ending HBCU FCS National Player of the Year Award, each presented by HBCU+.
Alabama A&M’s Donovan Eaglin and the Morgan State Bears have been selected as the HBCU+ National Player and Team of the Week, respectively, for FCS college football games in Week 11 this past weekend.

National Player of the Week
Donovan Eaglin, Alabama A&M, RB, R-So., 5-11, 206, Houston
Eaglin became the second FCS player to score five touchdowns in a game this season, fueling Alabama A&M’s 52-24, SWAC triumph at Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Across three quarters of action, he carried the ball 26 times for 148 yards, first scoring from 17 yards out early in the second quarter before later rushing for four consecutive TDs (18, 2, 3 and 3 yards). He gained nine first downs for the Bulldogs.

National Team of the Week
Morgan State (36-28 win at Delaware State)
The Bears (5-5, 2-1) overcame a fourth-quarter deficit for the second consecutive week while positioning themselves in the MEAC title race in advance of a home game against first-place South Carolina State. Sahr Gbunema’s third field goal put coach Damon Wilson’s team ahead 30-28, then Andre Crawley added a 16-yard touchdown run. Jason Collins Jr. finished with 24 carries for 152 yards and a TD, while defensive end Lance Byndon had two sacks among his five tackles.
