Henry Cejudo enters his first fight of 2025 in a likely must-win situation.
Three people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that a bantamweight bout between the former UFC champion and Song Yadong is in the works to headline UFC Seattle, which takes place Feb. 22 at Climate Pledge Arena. Kevin K was first to report the matchup.
After stopping Dominick Cruz at UFC 249 in May 2020, Cejudo announced his retirement from the sport. “Triple C” returned at UFC 288 in May 2023 to challenge Aljamain Sterling for the 135-pound title where he dropped a split decision. Cejudo went on to face now-champ Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 298 this past February where he dropped a one-sided decision.
Song only competed once in 2024 and dropped a decision to former champ Petr Yan at UFC 299. Prior to that, the 27-year-old earned a stoppage win over Ricky Simon, along with a unanimous decision against Chris Gutierrez in main event matchups.
