The Pacific Northwest is getting a banger Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) card.
UFC is going back to Seattle, Washington, next month (Sat., Feb 22, 2024), and now the promotion has its main event as former UFC Bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo will collide with No. 8 ranked Song Yadong inside Climate Pledge Arena.
Twitter user @realkevink first reported the news.
In the co-main event of UFC Seattle, Hunter Campbell informed ESPN that former two-time UFC Bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz will return from a nearly three-year layoff to fight No. 9 ranked Rob Font.
Cejudo (16-4) will put his return to Flyweight on hold as he looks to snap his two-fight losing streak. “Triple C” is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Merab Dvalishvili, in which he teased retirement again.
Yadong (21-8) has not competed since his loss to Petr Yan at UFC 299. He was rumored to fight Umar Nurmagomedov in the main event of UFC Tampa, but the fight never came to fruition.
Cruz (24-4) could be retiring after his upcoming “one last dance” at UFC Seattle. “The Dominator” suffered his second-ever knockout loss in his last outing against Marlon Vera at UFC San Diego in 2022 (watch highlights).
For what it’s worth, Cruz was vying for a rematch with Cejudo, but unfortunately, the matchmakers didn’t listen.
