Bayern Munich is rather busy at this moment in time. Their primary focus is to extend key players, which they are now doing. The other is to get rid of highly paid luggage, one of those being Leroy Sané. The player wants to stay, but even the performance-based clause for his salary is not enough for the club to consider offering a new deal. Club president Herbert Hainer implies that the club will take their time.
“Our sporting management is clarifying things with him: what are his goals, what are ours? Then we’ll have to decide together whether and, if so, how to continue the cooperation,” Hainer explained (as captured by Twitter account @iMiaSanMia).
As things stand, Bayern’s three older wingers (Kingsley Coman, Serge Gnabry, and Sané) are all on the sell list and their stance has not changed yet. Some of the current first team players are also told that they are surplus to requirements.
