Bayern Munich trounced Holstein Kiel…or was on its way to, rather, before two late goals in what should have been garbage time made it 4-3.
Thank goodness for the earlier scoring bonanza, eh?
Harry Kane was a big part of that, with the English captain rediscovering his goalscoring form and banking in two excellent headers on either side of the half to help Bayern race to an early, seemingly insurmountable lead. For all the critics in recent weeks as Kane’s open play goals dried up, Kane himself was never a doubter. And neither was his coach.
“He has incredible qualities in terms of scoring goals. I was often asked what was wrong with Harry when he didn’t score — he’s always stayed calm, worked hard and believed in his moments. I played against Harry and am now his coach, he’s just impressive,” Kompany shared after the match in comments captured by @iMiaSanMia.
Bayern have many questions to answer after the shaky ending on Saturday, but Kane’s quality is not among them.
