Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Welterweight contender Sean Brady strangled Eddie Bravo-trained black belt Richie Martinez with a slick mounted guillotine last night (Dec. 28, 2024) in the main event of Fury Grappling 12, which took place at 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
As expected, Martinez, who is a wizard off of his back, pulled guard within a minute of the grappling match, and that’s where he stayed for the entirety of it. Brady stayed heavy on top and controlled “Boogeyman,” but at the 3:25 mark, he almost got caught in an arm lock; however, within seconds, Brady stood up and slammed Martinez to escape. Brady got back on top and, within a minute, tapped Martinez with a mounted guillotine.

During his post-match interview after his win, Brady called for a fight with former Welterweight champion Leon Edwards.
“I want to go to London and fight Leon in his backyard on March 22,” Brady said. “So hopefully the UFC can make that happen, but we’ll see.”
Brady has been calling for a fight with Edwards for a few weeks on his podcast, but now that he finally got a mic in his face, which was broadcast on UFC Fight Pass, maybe he’ll get his wish.
Edwards is set to return to action for the first time since losing his title to Belal Muhammad at UFC 304 at UFC London on March 22, 2025, and he will be the main event … so now “Rocky” is just waiting for an opponent.
