“I think there’s definitely going to be a an adjustment period for DeBoer and the guys he brought with him from Washington and the guys that he has hired—he has won at every single level. But it has been a while since he’s kind of had to set up shop and build out the roster from the ground floor with his guys. I mean, you look at Fresno State, Washington, he was there temporarily. And I think as an Alabama supporter, you need to be excited about the fact that he has utilized the transfer portal to some degree.
“But him coming down to the South, I think it’s going to take some time for him to kind of find his footing. And it reminds me a little bit of when Brian Kelly took over at LSU, right? A guy that had recruited at Notre Dame shows up in Baton Rouge, you look at that first recruiting class, it was something we hadn’t seen from from LSU, in terms of it was coast-to-coast, very national. And if you look at the next year, there was definitely a self-correction where guys in-state became more of a priority. I think they found more of the type of guys that they wanted to chase at a school like LSU.
