Tottenham’s former director of football has called for a ‘complete cultural transformation’ at the club.
Damien Comolli spent three years at Spurs between 2005 and 2008.
During that time, the north London side won their last trophy, beating Chelsea in the League Cup final.
Comolli also worked under chairman Daniel Levy, who has been in the role since 2001.
However, he is currently under pressure from supporters amid Spurs’ poor form this season.
Levy was targeted by banners before the players were booed off following Sunday’s home defeat to Leicester.
Comolli remains confident he is still the right man for the job, though, with other changes at the club required to fix their current problems.
Speaking to Breakfast, the Frenchman explained: “Can Daniel do it on his own? I don’t think so.
“You need to have the right people around you. Ange’s part of it or the manager is part of it.
“I was reading a bit of Ange recently where he said his plan was to come and to change the culture. But you cannot do it on your own.
“You cannot change the culture with similar energy staff and an academy and everything else, you can’t. You can impact the culture at the first-team level.
“So what about the whole thing? So if Daniel is lonely at the top or he’s very lonely at the top he needs to have the organisation around him.
“That is going to be about being able to transform the culture and raise the bar and send the message across saying, ‘Okay one of the top 20 or five or tenclubs in the world. We need to win stuff.’
“And to win stuff you need a strategy. You need to have the culture. You need to have the right approach. You need to have the right players.
“You need to have the right management. I remember when we won the Carling Cup in 2008, David Dein texted me that he had just left his role as vice chairman of Arsenal and he said, ‘what’s your take on it?’ I said, ‘it takes so much work and energy to win a trophy, that is tremendous.’
“So that dedication, that organisation that’s set up. That’s going to make sure that the club will be successful, not only financially but on the pitch takes a lot of time and energy to achieve that.”
Comolli is currently president of Ligue 1 side Toulouse in his native France, a position he has held since 2001.
His previous roles include being a scout for Arsenal and Liverpool’s sporting director as well as working for Saint-Etienne and Fenerbahce.
As for Spurs, their defeat to Leicester extended Ange Postecoglou’s winless run in the Premier League to seven matches.
Meanwhile, his side have won just one of their last 11 league matches to leave them 15th in the table.
