Israel Adesanya didn’t take much time to rewatch his loss to Nassourdine Imavov in the main event of UFC Saudi Arabia.
After a great first round, Adesanya entered the second looking to continue his momentum. An inadvertent eye poke from Imavov occurred, and Adesanya could’ve taken time to recover and reset. Instead, “The Last Stylebender” continued to fight, and then was drilled with a huge punch that was the beginning of the end 0:30 into Round 2. In the immediate aftermath, Adesanya was not thrilled with the stoppage.
Following his third straight loss, Adesanya posted a video to his social media where he sat down to watch the finish back.
“Fair. fair game,” Adesanya said after watching back the stoppage. “Fair game. F*ck. …
“I’m still alive.”
Adesnaya said on the UFC Saudi Arabia post-fight show that he isn’t sure what his future looks like after dropping his third straight, and four of his past five. The former two-time champ plans to “chill and then think about things” before making a decision.
For now, Adesanya will let the result of his loss to Imavov sink in, and seems to be taking things as well as one could.
“That’s how the game goes,” Adesanya said.
