Roman Hemby has been a tremendously productive running back for the Maryland Terrapins since 2021. With one more season of eligibility, though, Hemby hit the transfer portal.
As it turns out, Hemby will stay within the Big Ten to play his final year of college football. It was announced on Monday that he’s committed to Indiana.
The Hoosiers are getting a talented and experienced back in Hemby. He played in 42 games for Maryland, notching 2,347 yards and 22 touchdowns as a rusher. He also notched 112 receptions for 921 receiving yards and five touchdowns through the air, so he can be a true “dual threat” running back.
Hemby led Maryland in rushing for the last three seasons in a row.
He played in only three games during his freshman season, which allowed him to take a redshirt. He’ll now use that final season of eligibility still rushing in the Big Ten, but doing so for Indiana.
