Orlando (Fla.) Jones 247Sports four-star athlete Vernell Brown III had a fantastic junior season and with that is hearing from some of the best programs in the country.
On Thursday afternoon the blue-chipper dropped who he was most keen on.
Brown tells 247Sports, “in no particular order” that he has a Top 11 of “Ohio State, Florida State, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Miami, Stanford, Clemson, Louisville, UCF and Syracuse.”
These programs have put a lot of effort into recruiting Brown.
“The big four in Florida, I consider UCF part of that, they’ve done a really good job,” Brown’s father said. “Ohio State has done a good job. Bama. To be honest everybody in there has done a good job. That’s why they’re in there. Those schools have made it known he’s a priority for them and in some cases the top priority for them.”
The elder Brown added that his son feels like the top priority for all four in-state programs along with Ohio State. Same goes for Syracuse and Louisville.
The family is navigating spring visits which will include a trip up to Ohio State, they’re getting one on the books for Syracuse and of course they’re going to hit the in-state programs.
As a junior Brown had 1,404 receiving yards, over 2,000 all-purpose yards, 12 receiving scores and 16 total touchdowns. He also has a skill-set to be outstanding in the secondary.
Brown also boasts a 4.9 GPA.
“The biggest thing to him is the people first and foremost,” his father said of what he’s looking for. “Those are the people you’re around every day. Development, putting him in position to accomplish his goal on Sunday. That’s extremely important to him. The development on and off the field. Those are the three key pieces. The people in the building, how they plan to use him to accomplish his goal on Sunday and the development on and off the field.”
