Atlanta (Ga.) Westlake Top247 2025 receiver Travis Smith Jr. has his top eight schools. The programs he’s keen on include Alabama, Auburn, Colorado, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Oklahoma, Ole Miss and Tennessee.
“Relationships and communication weighed in on these top eight,” Smith said. “Though other schools have offered, these schools have prioritized me on a high level. From the multiple school visits to see me to the phone calls. I am humbled and blessed to be a top priority for great programs listed.
“There are some spring practices that me and my family are planning but I plan to commit in July before senior year.”
Smith loved his recent visit to Alabama.
“The experience was everything I could ask for on an informative scale, academic scale, and relationship standpoint! The new staff shows me how much I would mean to their program. They were open to both me and my parents. I’m excited about that offense they’re bringing into the SEC!
“This visit was up there with both Auburn and Georgia’s junior days.”
Smith has raved about those two programs as well.
“I actually had a chance to have lunch with Kirby Smart and also sit with him and my parents at the basketball game,” Smith said. “That was the highlight of the day. Georgia really makes me feel like I’m their top priority and the staff continues to emphasize that. Coach B-Mac sat with me and made that clear as well. They feel I can be a special player here.”
In addition to a recent Auburn junior day Smith also took in the Iron Bowl.
“Coach Freeze is moving in the right direction with recruitment and I think a few more big recruits in the next year and two will make a big difference,” Smith said.
A game visit against to Tennessee was also an eye opener.
“The fans and the atmosphere stood out,” Smith said. “I see why it’s one of the toughest places to play in the country. They sling the ball all across the field and love a deep threat like myself. Coach Heupel and staff really feel I could make a huge impact especially with Nico taking over offense in the coming years. They love my skillset and playmaker ability and feel im a perfect fit for their offensive scheme. Glad I’m a priority to them as well.”
The industry-generated 247Sports Composite ranks Smith as the No. 196 prospect overall.
