Next season has already started for the Dallas Cowboys, who went 7-10 in 2024 and missed the playoffs despite putting forth a star-studded roster.
After parting ways with Mike McCarthy, they have been talking to head coaching candidates, but they need some reinforcements throughout their roster, which is top-heavy and seriously lacking at a few positions.
One of the few position groups at which the Cowboys don’t need a lot of help is cornerback, where they have veteran star Trevon Diggs and young stud DaRon Bland.
Both were hit with injuries in 2024, and in particular, Diggs was limited to 11 games because of a knee injury.
Per Todd Archer, Diggs had chondral tissue graft surgery on his left knee on Thursday, and unfortunately for Dallas, he could miss at least some of training camp this summer as a result.
Pro Bowl cornerback Trevon Diggs had chondral tissue graft surgery Thursday on his left knee and the recovery could keep him until parts of training camp if not longer, according to multiple sources.

That left knee is the same knee where Diggs tore his ACL early in the 2023 season after he had played in just two games.
He was named to the Pro Bowl in 2021 and 2022, and in 2021, his second year in the NFL, he took the league by storm with 21 passes defended and a league-high 11 interceptions, two of which he ran back for touchdowns, which earned him an All-Pro First Team nod.
In recent years, Dallas has been competitive largely thanks to their defense, but without Diggs locking up opposing wide receivers, they’re vulnerable.
They were just 31st in points allowed and 28th in total yards allowed in 2024 after ranking fifth in both categories during the 2023 campaign.
