While many people have been picking the Detroit Lions to reach the Super Bowl, if not win it all, since the start of this season, the Philadelphia Eagles have a real shot at doing the same.
With a 20-13 win over the New York Giants on Sunday, they finished the regular season with a 14-3 record, and they will begin the wild-card round of the playoffs as the NFC’s second seed versus the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts missed the team’s last two games due to a concussion, and per Mike Garafolo, while head coach Nick Sirianni may not give any real indication, Hurts should be able to play this weekend.
From The Insiders on @nflnetwork: Don’t expect Nick Sirianni to shed much light on Jalen Hurts’ status this week, certainly as long as Hurts remains in the concussion protocol. That’s how the #Eagles coach rolls with most injuries. But Hurts should be good to go. pic.twitter.com/KdgglCE7pL

Hurts, who was a prime MVP candidate two seasons ago, threw for 2,903 yards and 18 touchdowns while completing 68.7 percent of his pass attempts while running for 630 yards and 14 touchdowns in 15 games this season.
He teamed up with running back Saquon Barkley, who had a season for the ages, to give Philly the NFL’s seventh-best scoring defense and allow the team to rank second in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns.
A strong argument could be made that they’re the best all-around and most balanced team in the NFC and possibly the entire league, especially given the Lions’ many injuries and problems on defense.
The Eagles reached the Super Bowl two years ago, only to blow a 10-point lead and narrowly lose to the Kansas City Chiefs, and they would surely love to get revenge against Patrick Mahomes and crew this winter.
