Despite their disappointing start to the season, the New York Jets still have a chance to make the playoffs.
A loss to the Houston Texans on “Thursday Night Football” could’ve effectively ended their year, but by winning, they improved to 3-6, and with a somewhat easy schedule for the remainder of the season, there’s still hope.
That’s why the Jets might choose to hold on to their stars, as opposed to going through a bit of a panic sale as some thought they could before the NFL trade deadline.
That hasn’t stopped other teams from asking, however.
“The Jets have received calls about the availability of WR Garrett Wilson and corner D.J. Reed, but I don’t expect New York to move them. You can throw in Davante Adams in there, too, if you thought team owner Woody Johnson was going to get crazy (well, crazier),” Dianna Russini of The Athletic wrote on X.

The Jets looked much better against the Texans than they did in their prior game, a surprising loss to the New England Patriots.
Their pass rush got a massive boost, with Haason Reddick posting his first half-sack since reporting to the team after a holdout.
Then again, the Texans were dealing with multiple injuries, not to mention that quarterback C.J. Stroud hasn’t been as good on the road as he’s been at home.
The Jets haven’t looked like a Super Bowl-caliber team for the most part, but their roster is considered one of the best in the league.
It’s not about how you start the season but about how you finish it, so as tough as it might seem for the Jets right now, they still have a chance.
