Intel on several top uncommitted transfer portal players, including multiple running backs

The 2024 transfer cycle continues to slow down. The majority of top players have already committed, but there are a few impact players still available as we near the end of May.

The majority of top players have already committed, but there are a few impact players still available as we near the end of Monday.</p><p>This is the latest we’re hearing on some of the top available players.</p><div class=”vip-gate-block”></div><p><b><a href=”/Player/tyler-baron-46036850/” target=”_blank”>Tyler Baron</a>, EDGE, <a href=”https://247sports.com/college/louisville/” target=”_blank”>Louisville</a></b></p><p><b>Available Rank: </b>No. 2</p><p>There continues to be optimism with Miami and Baron. The senior edge rusher visited the Hurricanes in late April, and Miami has continued to push for him. Ole Miss is in the mix as well. There had been some interest between LSU and Baron, but word is that Baron signed an SEC agreement with Ole Miss when he initially committed to the Rebels before&nbsp;instead heading to Louisville. Signing that&nbsp;SEC agreement prevents him&nbsp;from&nbsp;joining another SEC team.</p><p><b><b><a href=”/Player/isaiah-augustave-46128231/” target=”_blank”>Isaiah Augustave</a></b>, RB, <b><a href=”https://247sports.com/college/arkansas/” target=”_blank”>Arkansas</a></b></b></p><p><b>Available Rank: </b>No. 13</p><p>Augustave, a Class of 2023 top-230 overall recruit, visited <b><a href=”https://247sports.com/college/arizona/” target=”_blank”>Arizona</a></b> this past weekend. <b><a href=”https://247sports.com/college/colorado/” target=”_blank”>Colorado</a></b> has also emerged as a team to watch as a team to watch as a possibility. Augustave, who ranked as the 13th-best running back recruit in the 2023 class, ran for 202 yards and averaged 5.8 yards per carry as a freshman at Arkansas last season.</p><p><b><b><a href=”/Player/star-thomas-46056048/” target=”_blank”>Star Thomas</a></b>, RB, <b><a href=”https://247sports.com/college/new-mexico-state/” target=”_blank”>New Mexico State</a></b></b></p><p><b>Available Rank: </b>No. 16</p><p>Thomas, the second-ranked uncommitted running back in the portal behind Augustave, is currently expected to transfer to Cal. There had been other schools like <b><a href=”https://247sports.com/college/duke/” target=”_blank”>Duke</a></b> and <b><a href=”https://247sports.com/college/toledo/” target=”_blank”>Toledo</a></b> involved as well with Thomas, a 2023 all-conference selection at New Mexico State who accounted for 14 touchdowns the last two seasons with the Aggies.</p><p><b><a href=”https://247sports.com/player/john-emery-jr-46038480/” target=”_blank”>John Emery</a>, RB, <b><a href=”https://247sports.com/college/lsu/” target=”_blank”>LSU</a></b></b></p><p><b>Available Rank: </b>N/A</p><p>Emery is set to visit <b><a href=”https://247sports.com/college/ucla/” target=”_blank”>UCLA</a></b> beginning Tuesday. The former five-star recruit had 1,062 career rushing yards and 16 career touchdowns at LSU.</p><p><b><b><a href=”/Player/zakhari-franklin-46036235/” target=”_blank”>Zakhari Franklin</a></b>, WR, <b><a href=”https://247sports.com/college/ole-miss/” target=”_blank”>Ole Miss</a></b></b></p><p><b>Available Rank: </b>N/A</p><p>Franklin, a two-time first-team all-conference selection at UCLA before transferring to Ole Miss, is currently visiting <b><a href=”https://247sports.com/college/washington/” target=”_blank”>Washington</a></b> after previously visiting Illinois. At <b><a href=”https://247sports.com/college/utsa/” target=”_blank”>UTSA</a></b>, Franklin had career totals of 261 catches and 37 touchdowns, including 93 catches for 1,137 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2022.</p><p><b><b><a href=”/Player/gavin-meyer-46076962/” target=”_blank”>Gavin Meyer</a></b>, DL, <b><a href=”https://247sports.com/college/wyoming/” target=”_blank”>Wyoming</a></b></b></p><p><b>Available:&nbsp;</b>N/A</p><p><b><a href=”https://247sports.com/college/usc/” target=”_blank”>USC</a></b> seems to be trending some right now for Meyer coming off a visit for him with the Trojans. Cal is among the other teams that’s been involved with Meyer, who also previously visited Illinois. Pro Football Focus had Meyer with the third-highest grade last year among Mountain West interior defenders.</p><p><strong><a href=”https://247sports.com/player/wilky-denaud-46099415/” target=”_blank”>Wilky Denaud</a>, DE, Mississippi State</strong></p><p><strong>Available Rank:</strong> NA</p><p>Denaud is trending toward FAU, per a source. The Owls made a strong push for him in the winter window but Denaud instead ended up at Mississippi State. But with Denaud opting to enter the portal in the spring, the Owls are well positioned&nbsp;for the 2023 high three-star recruit.&nbsp;</p>
