Jamal Musiala’s improved finishing threat is no accident.
The Bayern Munich star has been hard at work this season on refining that area of his game, and it sure is bearing fruit.
“I spoke a lot and intensively with [head coach] Vincent [Kompany]. That was important. I also resolved to improve myself in a few areas — going into the box, finishing from close range, scoring simple goals, being there for the headers,” Musiala revealed in a interview last fall with RND (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “But that must not have a negative impact on the way I play, the way I’m relaxed on the pitch.”
It certainly has not. Musiala has been in fine goal-scoring form this season, and a revelation as an aerial threat. He’s on track to easily eclipse his Bundesliga goal-scoring totals from recent seasons. And it has come as his team has needed him — or anyone, to emerge as a secondary striking threat behind Harry Kane.
