Oklahoma State interior offensive lineman Jason Brooks Jr. was the first prospect to announce that he’d take a redshirt during the fall and enter theĀ NCAA transfer portal. As a graduate transfer, that window opened Monday, and Brooks is now officially in.
247Sports has the 6-foot-3, 310-pound guard as a three-star transfer with an 85 rating.
After originally signing with Vanderbilt out of Houston Dobie, Brooks transferred to the Cowboys in February 2022. He logged 11 games in 2022 and started seven games the following year, becoming a key cog on an Oklahoma State offensive line that eventually reached the 2023 Big 12 Championship Game.
The Cowboys lost Brooks to a midseason injury in 2023, however. Communication issues between him and the coaching staff led to his redshirt decision and eventual transfer, he said.
