The first few weeks of the 2024 NFL regular season were tough for the Green Bay Packers, with superstar quarterback Jordan Love going down with what looked like a severe knee injury in the season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles.
After missing some time with the knee injury, Love was able to get back on the field and help the Packers return to form as one of the best teams in the NFC, with the team having won six out of the eight games played so far this season.
Unfortunately, Love suffered a groin injury in the win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, which put his status for Week 9 against the division-rival Detroit Lions in doubt.
On Wednesday, Love spoke to the media about his injury and whether he wants to play against the Lions this weekend at Lambeau Field via Ryan Wood of USA Today.
“I definitely want to play,” Love said.
Jordan Love makes his intentions clear this week: “I definitely want to play.”
Asked him if that’s realistic with his groin injury, he doesn’t hesitate.
“I think it’s realistic.”

It is no surprise that Love wants to be on the field for Sunday’s game against their division rivals, as it will be arguably the biggest game of the season up to this point and potentially an NFC Championship Game preview.
A case could be made that the Packers and Lions are the two best teams in the conference right now and in a battle for the NFC North division title.
If Love can’t get cleared to play on Sunday, the Packers will likely turn back to Malik Willis to take on Detroit in one of the most anticipated matchups of Week 9.
