Miami Heat guard Josh Richardson is nearing a return to the court. Richardson is fully recovered from a shoulder injury he suffered last season. Now, the veteran guard has to get over some lingering heel soreness before playing again.
“He’s making progress,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said when asked about Richardson following Saturday’s morning shootaround in Charlotte. “So I’m encouraged by it. I know he is, as well. Don’t have a specific date, but he’s practicing and he’s doing everything right now.”
Richardson was close to playing against the Hornets on Saturday, but was ruled out following a pregame warmup. The veteran combo guard hasn’t played since February 11, when he injured his shoulder in a game against the Boston Celtics.
