Joshua Kimmich made it known a while back that the supposed “lack of appreciation” from Bayern Munich would throw a wrench in his discussions with the club, who in turn were undecided on extending the 29-year-old’s contract, forcing the player’s hand. Now that he’s getting what he wants, it could be an implication on where he ends up next summer.
“It’s always a good feeling when you get appreciation,” Kimmich said (ZDF via @iMiaSanMia). “I know what I have here at FC Bayern. My family feels home here. It’s a very, very important decision for me that has to be made. It will be good to see the bigger picture in winter – and to see what has happened. Because right now there are so many games, you go up and down emotionally every three days. Of course, the past plays a role, but the future is more important.”
It looks like one pot of coffee—or 10 pints of Paulaner—isn’t enough to keep the offices going.
