Joshua Kimmich has made it known that he’s currently in discussions with Bayern Munich over a new contract, with his current deal (which he negotiated with the club himself) set to expire in 2025. However, the 29-year-old pointed out a significant point of interest that stops this deal from becoming certain:
Discussions about Joshua #Kimmich’s future at FC Bayern are ongoing, with the club remaining his primary point of contact.
However, a lack of appreciation until last summer has been a significant point of criticism from Kimmich.
Max Eberl still aims to reduce the squad’s overall salary structure, but a salary reduction for Kimmich, who currently earns approximately €20m gross per year, appears unlikely.
If no agreement is reached, a move to La Liga or the Premier League is being considered, with Barcelona and Real Madrid closely monitoring his situation.

Bayern’s primary target is to reduce the wage bill but some of the big earners are either sputtering in performance or simply refusing to leave despite clear indication from the club to do so.
