Queen’s Club celebrates the return of women’s tennis to its historic grounds.
Australian Open champion Madison Keys—and Britain’s best—will pump up the party.
Jessica Pegula: The Process is Completely Broken
British No. 1 Katie Boulter and 2021 US Open champion Emma Raducanu are on the entry list for the HSBC Championships set for June 9-15th on the legendary lawns of Queen’s Club.
Tickets for the HSBC Championships are on sale here.
It marks the first time in more than 50 years women’s professional tennis returns to the iconic London club. Olga Morozova defeated Evonne Goolagong 6-2, 6-3 in the 1973 Queen’s Club final, which was the last women’s Tour-level final held at the club.
Two-time Eastbourne champion Keys also capture the 2016 Birmingham title on British lawn and is pumped for the prospect of playing in London prior to Wimbledon.
“I can’t wait for the HSBC Championships,” said Keys. “Getting to compete there for the first time and experience playing at The Queen’s Club is going to be such a special occasion. I love the grass court season, some of my favorite memories of my career have come when I won titles in Birmingham and Eastbourne.”
The 2024 Nottingham champion Boulter has played some of her most assertive tennis on home soil. The 500-level HSBC Championships is the second highest-level tournament in Great Britain outside of Wimbledon, staged just a few miles away at SW19.
“I used to watch the tournament every year growing up so to be able to compete at such a wonderful, historic, and iconic event to commence the grass court season is an honour,” Boulter said. “We have some of the best women’s players in the world competing at Queens, and it takes the British grass court swing to a whole new level. To win that title as a British player would an absolute dream and I will do everything I can to get myself in that position. Let’s make more history this summer.”
