Kansas football is on the board in the 2024-25 transfer cycle. On Monday, 247Sports confirmed that Bangally Kamara had committed to KU. Kamara’s agent representing him via First Class Prospects confirmed the news. The linebacker transfer will have one season of eligibility remaining, which he will use during the 2025 season.
The 6-foot-2, 229-pound linebacker spent the 2024 season with the South Carolina football program but he departed the team and entered the transfer portal on Oct. 8. He did not play in more than four games during the season and is able to redshirt. Kamara took an official visit to Kansas last week. He also had visits set to see Purdue, SMU and Mississippi State.
Last December, Kamara entered the transfer portal after he spent the first four years of his college football career with the Pitt program. KU offered him last December but Kamara went on to commit to South Carolina.
During the 2023 season with Pitt, Kamara played in 10 games. He notched 55 total tackles with seven tackles for loss and two sacks. Over his time with the Pitt program, Kamara notched 120 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and five sacks in 48 games.
Rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports, Kamara holds a transfer grade of 86.
Coming out of high school, Kamara was a four-star recruit. A native of Ohio, Kamara picked Pitt over 25 other offers from programs like Iowa State, Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan State and Penn State.
