Bayer Leverkusen and Brentford FC are reportedly locked in a battle to sign Liverpool’s Sepp van den Berg.
Sepp van den Berg has returned to Liverpool after an impressive loan spell with Mainz 05 last season.
Die Nullfünfer would have liked to have kept hold of van den Berg, but have been unable to reach an agreement with Liverpool.
However, a return to the Bundesliga remains a possibility for the Dutchman, with Bayer Leverkusen reportedly keen on his signature.
According to De Telegraaf and Sky Deutschland, Bayer Leverkusen have held talks with van den Berg, but Brentford are also interested and the player will now decide between the two clubs.
Van den Berg could take one of the places currently occupied by Edmond Tapsoba or Odilon Kossonou, who are both linked with moves to England.
Jonathan Tah, who has long been linked with Bayern Munich, is now expected to stay.
