Updated SEC power rankings after spring practice are here ahead of the 2024 college football season, with transfer portal roster moves in mind along, projected two-deeps and how offseason coaching changes affected certain programs. The SEC expands with Texas and Oklahoma, two perennial title contenders and national recruiting powerhouses — in other words, ideal fits for one of the nation’s superconferences.
Nine of the SEC’s 16 teams were included in our recent post-spring preseason top 25 update, including several inside the top 10 as expanded College Football Playoff contenders. The SEC’s string of titles ended last fall via Michigan’s unbeaten season, and the Longhorns will get a chance to end the Wolverines’ lengthy winning streak in Week 2 this fall.
This is not a ranking indicative of how we’re projecting teams will finish in 2024, but is more of a look at rosters coming out of spring and which programs would win head to head matchups with each other if games were played next week.
