Former world No. 10 Pouille suffered the Achilles tear during the final of the ATP Challenger in Lille yesterday. Pouille trailed qualifier Arthur Bouquier 3-6, 5-3 when he collapsed to court suffering the Achilles injury.
Initially, he feared it could be career-ending, but Pouille was more positive in both pre and post-surgery social media posts.
“The results are what we thought… complete rupture of the Achilles tendon,” Pouille wrote on social media. “I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your messages. I will…do everything to come back.”
